Altenheim Manager is a client/server management system for establishments for elderly people. Data handled by the program comprises information about patients, employees, services, payments as well as other necessary information. The program can be used by all the personnel of the rest home, i.e. by administration, doctors, nurses, etc. Each category of employees has its own workspace and access rights to different program functions.
Special attention was paid to database maintenance. Initially, the system was designed to run on a single computer, but later it was extended to enable synchronization of databases between several computers. All changes in the database are logged up, so it is possible to rollback any incidental changes. The system also allows to backup the database or the list of changes in the database and restore previously saved data. The program was designed to be as flexible as possible. Program administrator can define new fields to be stored in the database; user can create reports and visual statistics presentations and adjust them to his needs.
One of the main functions of the program is planning work-schedule for employees. Employees available, their qualifications, and prescribed procedures are taken into account when planning the schedule. Administrator can correct resulting schedule manually. The program includes an integrated text editor with advanced features. Its most important feature is ability to create templates based on information from the program database.
The program makes it possible for users to change working language during the program run. Currently it supports English and German, but any other language can be added without changes in the program.
One of the most helpful functions of the program is a routine for scanning and processing printed reports about daily procedures. The program also prints automatically forms for these reports according to the working schedule.
