GenTOPP (for Deutsche Bank AG)

The result of the project was a completely browser-administrated Web content management system, a complete publishing environment for Intranet based solely on Web standards and standard Web tools. Elaborated organizational framework consisting of standards, safeguards, workflows, and quality assurance mechanisms provides extremely efficient, dynamic and decentralized method for publishing documents within the company.

The system is designed to host dynamic quality demanding Website. Release mechanisms are realized by implementation of appropriate workflows for content approval, editing/proof reading, expiration dates assurance, deadlines etc.
The system not only provides the framework of release process, but also completely automates it. The only chief editor's function in the release mechanism is final quality assurance. Webmaster, on the other hand, has two areas of duty: technical administration of the site and technical quality assurance of the content (style guide conformity, faulty HTML, dead hyperlinks, meta-information processing, etc.). The system provides him a set of automated tools for implementation of these tasks.
Quality assurance is an integral part of the system. Document must pass several stages of release process before it reaches the production server, which is publicly available through Intranet or Internet
During release process sets of informative e-mail notifications are sent to people with appropriate roles (author, webmaster, editor, chief editor).
The system was designed to provide great scalability - any additional capacity can be added transparently at the OS level with no need to modify the entire Web site.
As the software is intended to function in heterogeneous Intranet environments it is platform independent. It also implements a set of interfaces to system functionality, e.g. mailing functions.
